Mission
Many people want to live their life in a more sustainable way.
Emotive images of an area of floating plastic, bigger than the size of France, in the North Pacific Ocean and an artificial island created for dumping rubbish in the paradise islands of the Maldives are just two examples that demonstrate we definitely need to cut out our use of single use plastic.
Plastic takes so long to decompose that, unless recycled, every piece ever made may still exist in its original form today. Since writing this paragraph I am following with interest the Ocean Clean-up organisation which is tackling the big area of floating plastic and bringing it back to land for recycling.
Now, in Cricklade, you have the opportunity to refill your containers therefore, not buying new plastic. I have found two companies making reasonably priced, environmentally friendly products. I currently stock a range of laundry, cleaning and personal care products. Do let me know, in particular, if there is a product you would like to refill.
How it will work
You can drop off your containers to me to refill and collect later. If necessary, I can deliver back to you in Cricklade. I will weigh your container as given to me, refill, then weigh again to calculate the price. Browse the products page and email me to get started.
Covid-19
In order to keep everyone safe we will wear masks. I will keep each person’s container(s) separate from someone else’s. I will wash hands, wipe taps and pumps before and after doing the refills.
